Experience
I'm from Germany, where I received my B.A. in English and Special Education from the University of Hamburg. I have two master's degrees, one from Montclair State University in French, and the other from Lesley University in Education (with a concentration in Creative Arts). I became interested in the interconnections of language, history, and culture as a result of studying French in an immersive exchange program in Aix en Provence. My teaching reflects my passion for honoring the connections between culture and language. I've taught German, English, and French to students of many ages and levels, from pre-kindergarten to adults, in the U.S., South Africa, and, of course, Germany. I've taught AP French Language and Culture, and have helped students prepare for SAT Subject tests in German and French. I also have proficiency as an ESL/ELL educator. My teaching philosophy is based on the ideas that we are always learning, and that everyone is capable of living up to their goals, as long as they have proper support and advising. The arts are very important to me. I love going to plays, museums, concerts, and the opera . I'm also a fan of hiking, meditation, yoga, and reading historical texts and literature.
